What is Nest Pediatrics?
Nest Pediatrics is a modern, relationship-based pediatric practice built on personalized care. We offer a direct connection between families and their pediatrician—without the limitations of traditional insurance-based models. Our goal is to provide convenient, compassionate, and consistent care for your child from newborn through adolescence.
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care means you have a monthly membership with your pediatrician rather than paying per visit through insurance. This membership covers all office visits, text and phone communication, and most routine services—so you always know what to expect.
You’ll have easier access to your doctor, same-day or next-day appointments, and longer visits without being rushed.
Do you take insurance?
We do not bill insurance for visits. Instead, families pay a monthly membership fee.
You can still use your insurance for things like
• Vaccines
• Medications
• Lab work and imaging
• Specialist visits
This allows us to spend more time focusing on your child’s health—not insurance paperwork.
What does the monthly membership include?
Your Nest Pediatrics membership includes:
• Unlimited in-office and virtual visits
• Text, phone, or video access to your pediatrician
• Extended appointment times
• Most routine labs and procedures
• Paperwork for school, sports, and daycare
• Same-day or next-day availability for sick visits
We’re here when you need us—without the hassle of waiting weeks for an appointment.
Can I use my HSA to pay for a Nest Membership?
Yes. A new federal law goes into effect January 1, 2026 that allows Health Savings Account (HSA) funds to be used for Direct Primary Care (DPC) memberships, including Nest Pediatrics.
Under this law, HSA funds may be used for:
-
Up to $150 per month per individual, or
-
Up to $300 per month per family
toward a DPC membership fee.
Because individual financial situations can vary, we recommend consulting with your personal accountant or tax advisor to understand how this applies to your specific HSA plan.
Can you see my newborn at home?
Yes! We love offering newborn home visits. This allows you and your baby to stay in the comfort of your home during those first few days after delivery while still receiving high-quality pediatric care.
What ages do you see?
We care for children from birth through college if needed. From first smiles to high-school milestones, we’re here for every stage of your child’s growth.
What if my child needs a specialist or testing?
If your child needs a specialist, imaging, or labs beyond what’s included, we’ll help coordinate everything. You can still use your insurance for those services, or we can often help find affordable self-pay options.
How do I reach the doctor?
You can call, text, or message directly—no waiting on hold or navigating call centers. We want communication to be easy, personal, and stress-free.
What if we have an emergency?
For true emergencies, always call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. For urgent issues that aren’t life-threatening, you can reach out directly—we’ll help guide you on next steps or get you seen quickly.
Why would you want a pediatrician?
A pediatrician is an expert in child development and health. They guide parents in understanding what is normal and what requires attention. They have extensive training focused on children from birth to adolescents. After college, they earn their medical degree over 4 years and then complete 3 years of residency focused on all aspects of the care of children. A board certified pediatrician takes an exam that certifies they are knowledgeable in pediatrics and maintains their board certification staying up to date on the latest in pediatric medicine. People without this training may not always feel comfortable with children and may just quickly refer you to specialist unnecessarily or send you to an emergency room because they don’t know if something is normal or urgent. This is why, if at all possible, you want a pediatrician as your child’s doctor so you know you’re getting the best advice and care for those most precious to you.
Nest Pediatrics does not require vaccines but they are highly encouraged. Dr. Robins is very pro-vaccine but also understands that some people have vaccine hesitancy and questions. We are not here to judge, we are here to provide evidence based guidance and recommendations. Dr. Robins is always open to answer questions and discuss any concerns you may have. Ultimately the decision will be yours.
